In an effort to revitalize and improve wayfinding and transit connections within the Normandale Lake District of Bloomington, a system of unified gateway and kiosk signage, transit shelters, pedestrian access and landscape improvements were implemented along the corridors of West 84th Street and Normandale Boulevard between East Bush Lake Road and Trunk Highway 100/Normandale Boulevard.

The City of Bloomington, in 2009 contracted Blackstone Contractors to perform this work which included installation of four gateway signs, four transit signs, four kiosks, two transit shelters, precast concrete seat walls, concrete walks in standard, integrally-colored and exposed aggregate/sandblast finishes, signage lighting, and landscaping and irrigation improvements. The landscaping maintenance including plant weeding, watering, and landscape bed cleanup for two-years after installation.
